Lavenders (Lavandula) are a species of flowering plants in the mint family.  Nothing smells better than brushing up against a lavender plant in the garden.  The scent is breathtaking.

Flowers may be lavender, violet, lilac, blue, white, or pink and are edible. These fragrant herbs add flavor to honey, teas, sugars, baked goods, syrups, and cheese.  They are also popular in perfumes, beauty products, soaps, candles, potpourris, sachets, and wreaths.
