Free water!  With rain barrels you can catch rainwater, a natural resource, to water your garden and lower your water bill.

Rainwater is void of all the chemicals you get from your municipal water system, which can disrupt a healthy soil environment.  It is naturally soft and contains nitrogen from the atmosphere which plants love!

I love raised garden beds for many reasons, but mainly, because they are so low maintenance.  There are many raised beds to choose from including buying them prefabbed or designing and building your own.

They have many advantages over planting conventional in-ground gardens.

Composting is fun and good for the environment.  It is simple to do and anyone can learn how.

It's a natural way of decomposing organic materials into a rich soil, called compost or black gold.  This natural process involves bacteria, fungi, insects, and worms to break down materials in the compost pile.

Did you know radish seed pods are edible?  I found this out by accident when a couple of my radishes bolted.  I left them to flower in the garden where they grew to about four foot tall!  Before I knew it they were covered in small seed pods.

Come to find out they are edible and very tasty, with a mild peppery flavor.
