It's always best to have a plan when starting your garden.

There are a lot of things to consider such as the amount of space and sunlight you have, arrangement of crops, i.e., height, width, and companion planting, type of soil needed, summer and fall crops, whether to trellis, succession planting, etc.

It's been a great day.  I was out in the garden this morning and when I returned, I found that my site had been nominated for the Sunshine Award courtesy of Virginia at Tangent Gardening.

Thanks so much for passing along this award.  It’s so encouraging to have my site noticed and appreciated!

Saving seeds is one of the easiest things you can do to save a few dollars. Pepper seeds are very easy to harvest and dry, and they are viable for two to three years.

Peppers are self-pollinating, but they can cross-pollinate by wind or by insects.  If you want peppers true to seed, grow one variety, or isolate sweet peppers by a fourth mile and hot peppers by one mile.  Use fully mature peppers to get the best seeds.  Most all peppers turn red when fully ripe.
